Every IT person, developer, and programmer has an opinion when it comes to the various open source content management systems out there. It often comes down to functionality and ease of use, but even then the lines are often blurred and there is rarely a clear-cut victor. WordPress vs Drupal vs Joomla – which is really the king of open source CMS?
Devious Media tackled the question and did a comprehensive breakdown, putting each CMS under a microscope to answer the most important questions to help people make a choice. For us, the choice is clear, but blogging is not the only thing important in the internet world. Other functionality traits need to be considered.

As much of an improvement Drupal 7 is over 6, I think the Joomla interface is even better. It reminds more of WordPress, Expression Engine or Sitefinity.
Thanks for this awesome visual comparison. Originally I was thinking I’d take on some Drupal training. But that mountain climbing image has me now thinking I’ll do Joomla instead!
Np, Well it depends on what you will be working, but still I prefere Drupal, you can buld everything with it just as with other CMSes, but sometimes people prefere simple things, and drupal in this case is big to learn it quickly.
Great! I like the way you compare using visual images. And yes, what you said are very true. I tried Drupal for some months, to make it runs smoothly, I need to learn PHP and frequently do some file alterations, including php.ini and htaccess. Now I use WordPress because it’s the only I can use and easy to manage.
But now I’m looking for more powerful CMS. Do you have any suggestion, that is more powerful like Drupal (views, cck, rule, etc) but beginner friendly? Joomla is promising but I’ve read a lot bad reviews about it.
